Field Notes
London hours and the mid-session drift
For traders watching London hours, the dangerous stretch is often late morning into early afternoon: enough movement to feel active, not enough participation to trust every break.
What we see on printed packs
Breaks that print cleanly at 08:30 can look theatrical by 11:15 when ranges compress. Momentum oscillators twitch; structure sometimes does not. If your plan treats every oscillator cross as a turn, you will overtrade the drift.
A structure-led habit
On your sheet, separate overnight structure from session structure. Ask whether the mid-session move actually broke the morning swing or merely filled space inside it. Many “reversals” are still inside the morning range.
Workshop angle
In the Momentum Shift Clinic we deliberately include mid-session examples from FTSE and major FX so UK participants practise waiting for closes that matter on their clock, not a generic textbook session.
